The GCW Tour, Spain & Morocco: A Missed Opportunity

This building, which sits at the Eastern end of Barceloneta, houses the Barcelona Biomedical Research Institute.

For those who don't know me well, a) I work in the field of research administration, and b) I took four years of Spanish in high  school.

I'd like to think that there's an alternate universe out there where a and b combined to lead me to a life in Barcelona, living in Barceloneta, walking each day to my job at the research institute. Basically, being European. I think I would've liked being European. I think it would've offset a lot of my shortcomings.

Too late now. But I hope the European me in my alternate universe is enjoying his life and, since we're dreaming, I hope his European lifestyle was enough to prevent the colon cancer.

The cancer-free European me -- that's the me I wished I'd been able to become.
