The GCW Tour, Spain & Morocco: The 2nd Food Report, Taller de Tapas

Less atmospheric than last night's choice and a little disappointing, there were still a couple of standout dishes at Taller de Tapas. More important, the niece got to flex her adventurous eating muscles by trying octopus and paella for the first time. I was actually least impressed by the paella, which seemed overly dark and one dimensional to my taste, but the niece enjoyed it.

She also seemed to like the octopus, opting for more than just one taste, though she did prove herself to be her mother's daughter. Sib4 does not do "blicks." She examines everything she eats like a pathologist, separating even the most homogeneous of foods into its constituent parts and discarding anything that seems non-standard. The niece took the same approach to the octopus, removing all the suckers before she'd try it.

I did, however, convince her not to separate out the very tiny mussels in the paella.

In any case, here's tonight's food porn...

Mojitos
Bread with Tomatoes
Chickpeas, Spinach and Pancetta
Rocket, Avocado and Shrimp
Grilled Octopus with Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Cod Fritters with Mango Tartar
Seafood Paella

Cheesecake
Berry Soup with Yogurt Ice Cream

P.S. Should you find yourself in Barcelona at Taller de Tapas and the Berry Soup with Yogurt Ice Cream is on the menu, go eat dinner somewhere else, then come back for dessert.
