The GCW Tour, Spain and Morocco: Hey, You Kids, Get Off My Lawn, er, My Wi-Fi Network

It turns out our hotel in Seville is being occupied by about twenty or thirty teenagers on an "educational" trip of Europe. This explains the noises we hear all night long, and also the lack of recent posts.

If you bring thirty teenagers on a trip to Europe, what else do you bring? By my estimation, about ninety iPhones, iPads, laptops and other devices that are largely dependent on wi-fi to function. Have ninety devices all attempting to access the Spanish hotel's Spanish wi-fi at the same time and what do you get?

Zero bandwidth. We haven't been able to get on the network since the first night we arrived.

There's a computer in the lobby, which I'm using to post this update, but the keyboard is set for Spanish -- hence the screwy character choices -- and it's driving me nuts. So there will be no further posts for at least one more day.

Tomorrow we depart Seville for Tarifa, and with any luck, we'll leave the teenagers behind as well. (Well, except the niece. She's a teenager, but she's my teenager so that's okay. It's everyone else's teenagers that are the problem.)

The other challenge is that we're only in Tarifa for a day, before we head to Morocco. I have no idea what to expect network-wise there, but I can't say I'm hugely optimistic.

It may be Saturday, when we're back in Barcelona, before there are any updates.

We'll see.
