In any case, this will have two immediate impacts on my blog:
First, no more photos until I return to America. Without the laptop, I can't get the pictures off my camera to post to the blog, so for the remainder of the trip I'm limited to text. I'll mark any post that was intended to have pictures as a "draft" and then pull that designation once I get the pictures added for anyone who wants to either wait for the pictures or come back and reread the post with its visual enhancements.
Second, with the loss of my laptop I've lost my keyboard so I'm now limited to one finger pecking on my iPad. This will limit the number of words I can tolerate entering which, in retrospect, may be a good thing. In any case, expect shorter posts.
Apologies to everyone who was hoping to follow along, but that's the good and the bad with technology: while it enables things like this blog, it's also a lot more fragile than a pen and a postcard.
And no, I'm not sending anyone a postcard.
