Well, not really, but you may recall the nursery rhyme about the old lady who swallows a fly, then a spider to catch the fly, and then a bird to catch the spider, on up through cat, dog, goat, cow and horse.
The progression of my aches and pains today sort of reminded me of that story. To illustrate...
There's something wrong with the back of my tongue. I'm not sure if it counts as mouth sores, dental weirdness, or what, but it hurts like hell, especially when I swallow. As a result, every time I swallow I'm clinching my jaw in response to the pain. As a result, all of the molars on left side of my jaw now hurt like hell pretty much incessantly. The pain in my teeth, then, has traveled down into my jaw and back into the joint, so moving my mouth hurts, too. The pain in the jaw, has lead to a low level headache for most of the day. And finally, all this pain has my salivary glads working overtime, apparently trying to wash the pain away, and this, of course, has led both to an exacerbation of everything that I've addressed so far, as well as a sore throat as a result of the over usage.
I could tell a similar story of my feet, but I won't. I'm tired of writing about my feet. Actually, I'm just tired of my feet.
The story of the old woman ends with her dead -- "there was an old lady who swallowed a horse; she's dead of course." I have to admit that days like today make that sound like a fairly reasonable option.
