The GCW Tour, Buenos Aires & Antarctica: The Official Antarctica Cruise Dance

Who knew there was an official cruise dance? I'm not sure what it's called, but it's sort of like a square dance in that it involves a caller. Most everyone on board seems to know the steps. Here's roughly how they go:

Voice on the PA: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a whale off the port side, at approximately eleven o'clock.

Dancers: Everyone stands up and runs to the windows on the left side of the boat and aims their cameras outside the windows.

(a minute or two goes by)

Voice on the PA: Ladies and gentlemen, the whale seems to have moved to the starboard side. Approximately three o'clock.

Dancers: Everyone runs across the room to the windows on the right side of the boat.

(a few minutes pass)

Voice on the PA: The whale is now behind us.

Dancers: Everyone leaves the room and runs to the back of the boat.

The ornithological variation is good too:

Voice on the PA: Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't seen an albatross yet, we have one flying around the boat.

Dancers: Everyone runs outside with their cameras to take a picture.

(a few minutes pass)

Voice on the PA: Ladies and gentlemen, if you're part of the group at the front of the boat taking pictures of the big brown birds, those are not albatross. The albatross is black and white and is currently flying behind the boat.

Dancers: Let out a collective, and audible, sigh.
