The GCW Tour, Buenos Aires & Antarctica: The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

I'm a sucker for a good art museum. So today I made a point to find the National Fine Arts Museum in Buenos Aires.

Major positive: It's free! I can't remember the last time I found a large metropolitan art museum that was free.

Major downside: It didn't have couches. I fear the museum in Barcelona is going to ruin all the rest for me, as it has some very nice couches to rest in. This one just had benches.

And I'll be honest. I'm not sure this collection was all that much. It had its representative works from the major artists, but none of them really jumped out. That said, for obvious reasons it had a lot of Argentinian art and the work of Emilio Pettoruti, who I wasn't aware of previously, did jumped out at me. Of course, it might just be that when I painted the wonder room I painted it brown, and so these three paintings would really look nice hanging there. (And, yes, I am starting to realize that the FD's comment that I'm the most narcissistic person she knows has some resonance.)

But I took pictures of the paintings, so you can judge for yourself.
