Things are stable and unchanging -- and thus boring -- on the cancer front. So let's talk about Kevin. After a week, here's where things stand with the cat:
As indicated by the photo to the left, under the bed is still Kevin's preferred location. Although, after a week she's willing to stay just under the edge of the bed rather than going all the way under to the center. So progress.
And as also indicated by the photo, she doesn't move deeper under the bed when I approach. Last week if I'd gotten this close to her, she would've instantly backed up to the center of the bed against the wall where I couldn't reach her.
She also puts up with it if I do reach under and grab her. She's not fond of it yet, but she'll tolerate it. And she'll sit on my lap for at least ten or fifteen minutes before getting completely fed up and escaping. See, I don't even have to hold her down anymore...
And now when she escapes she just moves about six feet away from me, rather than going all the way back under the bed. So, again, progress.
But we've still got a ways to go.
Last minute update: For the first time ever, Kevin has actually voluntarily come into the same room I'm in. I'm in the living room, and Kevin is now in here as well. She's alternating between watching what's on TV, and trying to pull my bag off the table by dragging on the strap that's hanging over the edge.
She's a helper!

ReplyDeleteThat's about as much attention as I get from our cats, and we've had them for two years, so you're already ahead.
