Well despite the fact that this was party night, and thus dinner involved pasta, a lovely white bean soup, salad, beer, booze, wine, and the world's greatest cake, which made me think tracking my blood overnight blood sugar would pretty much be a lost cause, I'm actually doing surprisingly well.
I can't recall when I ate exactly what, or the insulin dosages I took, but my little machine tells me my blood sugar numbers for the day, and those are pretty good: 5:00 pm -- 159; 7:00 pm -- 106; 8:00 pm -- 142; 11:00 pm -- 66. Granted, the 66 from a few minutes ago is a bit low, but not so low that I don't feel like I can just let it ride and see where we are in the morning.
At this rate, I'm starting to feel a little optimistic that I might actually be able to hit the desired target come Wednesday morning.
Of course, there's also the possibility that after hitting my numbers two or three days running in practice, when it actually counts I'll screw it all up.
But for now we'll run with the optimism.
I told you the cake would work!
