Our next stop was Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands of Scotland. It's a small town -- the guides on our tour took great pleasure in noting that they don't have any stop lights -- but it has a pretty nice cathedral, and a very snazzy graveyard. Most of the people buried there seem to have been there a few score decades, at least, though they were having a funeral later the day we were there so maybe there's a spot for the more recently deceased.
Regardless, there are certainly worse places to be buried...
