All things considered, I wouldn't call Reykjavik the most beautiful city in the world, but it is very nice from up high...
I'm particularly fond of the colored roofs.
From ground level, though, it's a little mundane. Not terrible, just nothing that jumps out and grabs you -- well, not me anyway. But this morning we had a couple of hours to wander the streets before the boat departed for our next stop, so we climbed to the top of the tower of Reykjavik's most famous church (hence the photos above), spent a few minutes in the viking museum, and went shopping for souvenirs: postcards (the niece), key chains (the EYO), and fridge magnets (me).
Along the way we saw quite a bit of street art. I'm always a sucker for public art...
