Well, here we are: the second anniversary of the day the I walked into urgent care and walked out (on my way to the local hospital for surgery) with a cancer diagnosis.
On the one hand, two years is pretty good. The two-year survival rate for stage IV colon cancer is roughly 40%, so I'm at least in the top-half of the class. And I know plenty of people -- many without cancer -- who've had a much rougher two years than I have.
On the other hand, well...
On the other hand, in honor of the seven hundred days I've spent with colon cancer, everything I've gone through so far and everything that's yet to come, I provide you with the following heart-felt, if poorly executed, expression of my current existential outlook:
