The GCW Tour, the Frozen Cruise: Getting to the Boat

Well, it appears Disney has figured out the wifi thing, but that doesn't mean I have (although I was smart enough to turn off the auto-updating feature on my tablet so Windows didn't burn through $40 worth of bandwidth trying to run a patch). So for now I'm going to go with few, longer posts.

So, first, two more shots of London. Of course, I completely forgot to get a picture with my buds, so all you get are kids...

Friday morning, we left for Dover. The trip involved a train to Folkestone followed by a bus to Dover. Here's the weather we experienced during the five minute walk from the train station to the bus stop...

Happily, it didn't stay quite that bad, but we were very damp by the time we made the boat.

At Dover, we left our bags and the station and hiked up the hill to the castle. Really, a cool site. You get all the Henry II, Richard the Lionhearted, Prince John stuff, plus there's all the World War II, Dunkirk, Normandy stuff (which you aren't allowed to photograph). But well worth a visit, and Dave even got a chance to play on the artillery.

Last, but not least, we made the boat. It's very nice, but I think it's really designed more for warm weather climates. Not much call for watersliding with the weather we're having.

The first night on the boat was lots of fun, followed by my first major error of the trip. I could've sworn we were at Newcastle today with and 8:15 start to our excursion to Castle Somewhere. Nope. Coulda slept in. Oh well, but now it's catching up with me so I'm going to sleep.

Right after I figure out how much bandwidth this consumed.
