The GCW Tour, the Frozen Cruise: Akureyri -- Well, the Port Section Anyway

Our second stop in Iceland was Akureyri, the primary city in the northern section of the country. This is to say, a small city of 20,000 people forty-two hours by car, forty-five minutes by plane, or a day-and-a-half by cruise ship from Reykjavik.

Unfortunately, though the dock for the cruise ships is walking distance from town our chosen excursion left right when the boat docked and dropped us back off just a few minutes from when it left for Norway. Thus, we didn't get to see much of the two except what could be seen from the dock or the bus.

But what we saw was pretty...
