Define "Few"

I haven't got much sleep over the last two weeks as it's a little hard to sleep when you're trying to cough up a lung. Tonight, however, that wasn't a problem. The doc at the clinic prescribed me some serious cough medicine, containing some nicely controlled substances, so coughing wasn't an issue for the first time in weeks.

As a result, I slept pretty soundly until I woke up. It seemed a bit early, so I thought I must have a few minutes before the alarm went off. (Always nice to wake up before the alarm.) And, indeed, if your definition of "a few" ranges to 330 then, yes, I have a few minutes before the alarm goes off.

Damn it.

Further, since I stupidly moved around and gave Kevin a pat on the head, Kevin interpreted this to mean that we were adopting a nocturnal schedule, so now she's running around chasing her toys and trying to dig her way through the couch.

I can't really say that this is what I was hoping for when I went to the urgent care clinic. Nice to not be coughing, but I was really hoping to combine that with comatose between the hours of, say, midnight and six.

And now I'm really starting to regret having bought Kevin a package of little plastic balls with bells inside them. I'd thought she lost them all, but one just reappeared. Wasn't really thinking about the middle of the night when I made that purchase.

  1. Soon the jingle balls will all be under the fridge and you won't have to worry about them anymore.

    1. True, that. The first two disappeared after about 45 seconds.
