The GCW Tour, A Few Bits of the UK and Ireland: Dublin Tourist Destination #1, The Book of Kells

I can't say how excited the boys were by the idea, but given we're staying across the street from Trinity College, seeing the Book of Kells seemed like a good way to start the day. Unfortunately, since photography isn't allowed in the display, I can't show you any of the book. I can, however, say that it is an awfully nice display, that goes through the history of the books and provides lots of information about how they were made, but is a little disappointing in that you only actually get to see four actual pages in the books. 

So, definitely worth the $20 and the hour it took to see them. I can also say that while Trinity College looks pretty much like most any other small college campus...





...the Old Library (above where the exhibit is housed) is so very cool...
