One Should Not Have to Choose Between Cancer Treatment and Walking

Last time, it took almost six months of treatment to reach the point where the drugs interfered with walking. This time, it's taken six weeks.

The odd thing is that it's only the one foot. My left foot feels perfectly fine, my right foot not so fine. I've never actually broken all the bones in my foot with a hammer, but I have a hard time believing that doing so could hurt any worse than my foot currently does. And by currently, I mean at this very minute since the the pain has been getting exponentially worse over the past three days and so should be substantially worst in a few hours.

A brief rundown on the progression: On Friday I was just sort of hobbling around; Saturday, I couldn't really put any weight on my foot without a lot of pain; and just a few minutes ago I was awoken out of sleep by the pain in my foot. I won't be going back to sleep anytime soon.

Adding to the troubles, I can't remember which types of pain killers I'm allowed to take on the drugs and which ones I'm supposed to avoid. I'm pretty sure the really good ones are on the avoid list, and the really, really good ones I don't have in my medicine cabinet as I didn't bother to fill the last prescription I received since the procedure that prompted the prescription was cancelled.

But if my foot doesn't start feeling (a lot) better (very) soon, I may have to dig out that prescription.
