So with two days in Saigon, we decided to devote one of them to driving out to the Mekong Delta. And by driving, I mean renting semi-automatic four-speed, 125 cc (or so we were told) scooters, and joining the throngs of pedestrians, scooters, cars, buses, and trucks all vying for space on the roads.

The delta is about 45 miles from Saigon which, frankly, is a long way to ride on a scooter. And, like much of Vietnam, there's just too much to see in the small amount of time we had available. We were moving too fast to stop for pictures of some of the more photogenic parts of the area, but here are some pictures nonetheless...
