This is my blog about my cancer ("my cancer," like it's a pet or a hobby). I'm starting it because I'm fairly lazy and repeating the same stories over and over as friends and family ask about the latest development seems really inefficient. This also gives everyone access to the same source material, thus minimizing the "telephone" problem. We'll see if it works and how long I bother to keep it up...

We Interrupt the GCW Tour to Note a Milestone
Well, if you've been reading this blog since the beginning, Congratulations! You're now reading your 500th post on me, my cancer, the GCW Tour, and whatever random nonsense came to mind as being at least semi-relevant to the organizing principle of a cancer blog. I must admit that I'm having the same reaction to this that I did to my recent birthday: I'm a little surprised that I made it. You're probably wondering if there wasn't something better you could've done with all that time. I was going to celebrate by trying to download all the text and plug it into a word cloud generator, but a) it's surprisingly hard to get the text back out of the blog, and b) my favorite word cloud generator no longer works as it was built using Flash or Java or one of those programs that is now considered a massive security risk so no browser will actually open it. As Homer Simpson once said (as he began throttling Bart when Lisa did something wrong), "In times of trouble, go with what you know," so to mark 500 posts instead of a word cloud I give you this...
